At Faithfully Guided, our approach to Christian counseling is built around the fact that emotional health shapes physical health, and vice versa. You are a whole person—spirit, mind, and body. For true healing, we need to reach all three.
Mental health impacts emotional health
The main thing we want our clients to understand is that stress doesn’t stay in your thoughts, and unresolved trauma doesn’t live only in your memories.
Research continues to show that emotional pain impacts the physical body systems, and the body “remembers” trauma. When we carry the chronic stress of mental distress, the effects of it can show up as digestive issues, inflammation, hormonal issues, nervous system symptoms, and, ultimately, long-term health risks.
That’s why our counselors pay close attention to the connection between mental and physical health. For example, we’ll consider how your anxiety may be affecting your gut health, how trauma and chronic inflammation may be related, or how stress may be playing a role in hormonal imbalances. To treat these connections, we’ll recommend various mind-body techniques while also collaborating with our medical team. This way, you don’t have to navigate disconnected systems of care.

Our mind-body therapy techniques
Each therapeutic technique we use is designed to support you as a whole person in spirit, mind, and body.
For example:
- EMDR and Brainspotting help reprocess painful memories and reduce their physical and emotional effects
- Somatic Therapy and Nervous System Work restore safety and regulation in the body
- Embodied Story Work changes the way we experience our story by gently reshaping the narratives we carry about ourselves, others, and God
- Restorative Services support your counseling with treatments that relax your mind and accelerate your nervous system for whole body health

Faith as a foundation
In addition to using clinical tools and research-backed therapeutic techniques, our counselling approach incorporates a faith-based foundation.
For many clients, this means providing a space where they can welcome their spirituality and faith (whatever that looks like for them!) into the therapy room.
We may discuss strengthening spiritual identity, deepening purpose, or living more intentionally within your values. The spirit plays an important role in mental health, and we don’t shy away from that.
You don’t have to keep holding it together alone
It’s never too late to tend to your spirit, mind, and body.
We’re here to walk with you toward clarity, resilience, and hope. If you’re ready to experience whole-person care, we’d love to meet you.
